Greetings Future Volunteers!

We invite you to join one of the biggest events on the Olympic Peninsula

Click here to apply as a volunteer
for the 2013 Sequim Lavender Farm Faire!

Last year's Farm Faire owes much of its success to the smiling and helpful faces that served as volunteers, both before and during the event.  We thank you, and hope that each of you will consider volunteering again this year, which promises to have even more opportunities than before.

Thanks to the diligent efforts of two promising young filmmakers in Sequim, we now have a wonderful video to highlight the volunteer experience.  Please watch and enjoy...

Please support these young men by visiting and liking some of their other videos on YouTube.

Not enough smiling and happy faces for you?  Click here to check out some of the pictures from the 2012 Farm Faire.

Important Information

 Updated May 2013

  • We will be communicating information primarily by email so please include volunteer@sequimlavenderfarms.org as an approved address.
  • Living in Sequim is not a requirement for volunteering. We have volunteers from all over the country that come to town for Sequim Lavender Weekend.
  • You don’t need to be an expert on lavender or Sequim. We will provide training and reference materials so you can confidently and competently function at whichever assignment you are given.
  • Families are encouraged to volunteer together. It is a great way for a parent or grandparent to share his or her love for volunteering! We do ask, however, that an application be completed for each person. There is a special field on the application to identify someone with whom you want to work.
  • We need LOTS of volunteers. Please tell your friends! Carpool together and come as a group!  There is a prize for the individual(s) that recruits the most new volunteers!!  Have your "recruits" write your name in the designated blank at the end of the application.
  • As a volunteer, you will receive a Farm Faire t-shirt, a Farm Tour button ($15 value), and a lavender plant (compliments of Victor's).
  • All volunteers are required to attend a training and registration session the week before the event. Three different meeting days and times will be available. Details are forthcoming.

Enhancements & Changes

 Updated May 2013

  • The Sequim Lavender Farmers Association is adding even more events, so lavender can be enjoyed all year.  If you have other plans during Sequim Lavender Weekend, please consider joining as a volunteer for one of our new events:
    • Tour de Lavender, August 3-4 (check out the event website: http://tourdedungeness.wordpress.com/)
    • Sequim Lavender Distillation Celebration, August 31 - September 2 (Labor Day Weekend)
    • Sequim Lavender Winter Faire, November 29 - December 1 (Weekend after Thanksgiving)
  • Additionally, any volunteers who are unable to participate during Sequim Lavender Weekend can also look forward to ample projects and opportunities to serve.  These projects and opportunities are available year-round.
  • We have incorporated much of the feedback from last year's volunteers into our training program, the bus system, and the information booth setup.  You can look forward to a more streamlined and efficient use of your time to prepare for the event, in addition to improvements for the typical new visitor needing guidance.
  • Our partnership with the City of Sequim for Sequim Lavender Weekend will continue.  Analysis of the successes and challenges from last year's inaugural program is in progress and improvements are being discussed.  For example, there will definitely be additional information booths and improved signage.
  • All parties have worked together with the Washington Department of Transportation and the Washington State Patrol to address the traffic problems on Highway 101.  Solutions are being discussed that should ease some congestion.  Additionally, Sunshine Lavender will not be participating in the Heritage Farm Tour
  • Mike and Sue Shirkey at Port Williams have retired from the Heritage Farm Tour, but will still be actively involved during Sequim Lavender Weekend out at Washington Lavender.  Victor's Lavender will be replacing Port Williams on the tour.  We are excited about Victor's presence!
